Leata is an Associate at Burke Moore practicing in the Bankruptcy department. She is a graduate of Regent University School of Law, in Virginia Beach. While there, she served as the Training and Development Coordinator on the Trial Advocacy Board and participated in competitions on behalf of the school. 

Leata began her career in public service; she served as a Senior Prosecutor in Hampton, Virginia, where she tried both misdemeanor and felony cases, ranging in complexity from shoplifting to murder. She then moved to Georgia in 2023, where she served as an Assistant General Counsel in the Department of Corrections. Also in 2023, she began her journey at Burke Moore as a part time contractor.
